CA announced the pending Arcot deal yesterday in what the company has called a stragegic effort to boost its identity and access management (IAM) offerings.
Islandia, N.Y.-based CA said this deal will help promote its cloud security strategy through Arcot’s cloud-based IAM authentication solutions.
CA sees a bright spot in the IAM field, as it predicted low-double-digit growth in the sector over the next four years.
“The transaction is expected to drive new revenue streams for CA Technologies IAM business by growing Arcot’s eCommerce transaction business and growing sales to managed service providers that serve emerging enterprises”, CA said in a press release statement.
CA said it expects the deal to close by the end of September, pending regulatory approval. Upon closing, Arcot facilities and its 165 employees will become part of CA’s Security division.
